Newton Hall has been established for over 30 years in the quiet countryside 5 miles north of Ipswich, and in that time has grown to be one of the largest riding centres in the East of England. Facilities include a 60m x 30m indoor arena, two large outdoor floodlit arenas, an indoor school, a show jumping paddock and over 40 varied cross-country fences in 40 acres of grassland. The Centre always has between 50 and 60 horses and ponies available, which enables great flexibility, and allows large groups to be catered for.
A large complement of staff qualified to BHSAI and BHSI grades cater for all levels of tuition. Newton Hall is open 365 days a year and tuition is available on 7 days a week and all weekday evenings. All arenas are floodlit enabling evening courses to operate through out the year.
The horses and ponies are schooled regularly to maintain a good level of training. Whether beginning or improving your riding you are able to learn to ride and care for horses in a friendly established environment with qualified instructors and sensible horses.
At Newton Hall Equitation Centre we offer:
Class lessons and private lessons
BHS Progressive Riding Tests for children & adults
Evening courses to BHS stages exams
Returning to riding courses
Pony rides
Saturday & Sunday clubs for children
Gymkhana parties & birthday parties.
Own-a-pony / horse days throughout the year
Local schools riding groups
Business groups - welcome at all levels
Social & pub rides
Riding & road safety training sessions and tests
Stable management - practical and theory
Instructional courses
Livery - full / working / schooling
Our Short Breaks are held throughout the year and provide a relaxed opportunity to ride in the Suffolk countryside. Tailored for individuals, friends or family groups, these days can be used as a refresher, an introduction to riding or to further improve riding skills. Short Breaks can be booked for midweek from 2 to 4 days.
Activities include: Indoor / Outdoor Riding, Hacking, Cross Country, Showjumping, and Dressage with tuition from qualified BHS instructors.
Choose from any single activity or mix and match.

Our Instructional courses are held throughout the year and provide all levels of tuition. Courses are normally for 5 or 7 days duration.
By request, members can look after a horse/pony for the week under supervision.
